Getting started with WASP

  1. WASP is compatible with Firefox 1.5 and newer. If you need to download Firefox, you can do so here.
  2. Install the WASP Firefox Extension from addons.mozilla.org
  3. Restart your browser when prompted to do so
  4. From the top menu, do View/Sidebar/WASP
    (or click on the WASP icon shown on the status bar)

  5. As you browse the web, information about the web analytics solutions detected by WASP will be automatically shown in the sidebar
    (see known issues).
  6. Note that multiple tabs might appear in the sidebar if there are more than one tool found on the page.

WASP Advanced Features

Open file...
Given a text file with a list of URLs (one per line), WASP will check each one and automatically generate a report at the end of the process. You can start the crawling process by clicking the WASP icon in the status bar. To avoid any unexpected consequences, WASP is currently limited to 5 domains and 100 links.

WASP will look at each link on the current page that match the same domain and recursively crawl from there. A report is automatically generated at the end of the process. You can start the crawling process by clicking the WASP icon in the status bar. To avoid any unexpected consequences, WASP is currently limited to 100 links.
Crawl Alexa
This feature is currently disabled and reserved for future enhancements.
Save Log As...
You can ask WASP to generate a report at any time. This report, in CSV format (Microsoft Excel compatible) will include the following columns: Timestamp, HTTP Status, Domain, Solution Type, Solution Name, URL, Page Title, Tag
